Development of Seed , Planting Material and saplings business continued to be the thrust area during the financial year 2010-11 in order to generate higher volumes of revenue and profitability, guidelines for empanelment of seed suppliers for supply of quality certified /TL seeds of various crops/varieties,planting material and sapling to agriculture and horticulture Departments and Seed Corporations of various Stats and guidelines for empanelmentod seed produceres for undertaking production of certified seeds of Oilseeds,Pulses and Maize and supply of the same under Centrally sponsored Scheme ISOPOM & NFSM , were modified during the year 2010-11. NAFED supplied 9346 seed minikits of Pulses (Arahar) during Kharif 2010 season and 19875 seed minikits Oilseeds (SunFlower) during Rabi 2010 season under Centrally Sponsored Schemes ISOPOM & NFSM- Pulses Component in the allocated States .NAfed also supplied certified and TL seeds of Wheat ,Paddy,Maize,Arahar,Urad, Black Gram , Peas , Soya Bean, Sun Flower , Vegetables and fodder etc. planting in the states of Chattisgarh , Rajasthan , Andhra Pradesh , Punjab, Haryana, Gujrat, Uttrakhand , Himachal Pradesh , Jammu and Kashmir , Orissa , Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh, during the year 2010-11, NAFED achieved a turnover of Rs 40.93 crore frrom Seed, Planting Material and Sapling business.
