Exports
During the year 2010-11, Nafed's total Exports under outright account were of the order of Rs 13.14 Crore . Out of the total export basket of NAFED , The major contribution came from export of onion.
NAFED continued to be one of the canalizing and monitoring agencies for export of Onion . During the year , a total quantity of 13.41 Lakhs MTs of Onion was exported from the country. Out of which , NAFED directly exported 5016 MTs Onion to diffrent destinations valued at Rs 12.00 crore. In Addition, Nafed also issued NOCs for export of 230695 MTs Onion Valuing Rs 333.46 crore.
Apart from the above , NAFED also exported a quantity of 1200 MTs of Maize valuing Rs 1.15 crore to Bangladesh under outright account . The details are given as under

IMPORTS
In order to supplement the availability of Pulses NAFED imported a quantity of 28370 MTs of Yellow Peas and Black Matpe(Urad) valued at Rs 47.05 Crore from Canada on behalf of Government of India
NAFED is one of the importing agencies of Government of India for import of Edible Oils for supply under subsidy scheme to the nominated states . A quantity of 3000 MTs of RBD palmolein valuing Rs 11.83 Crore under the scheme was imported and delivered to the designated State Agency of West Bengal Government during 2010-11 for distribution through PDS.
